He was the coach of boxing of six-time, four-weight class World champion Roy Jones Jr., IBF lightweight world champion Paul Spadafora, IBA super featherweight world champion Monty Méza-Clay and USBA WBA-NABA as well as IBC World champion in the lightweight category Verquan Kimbrough.
Yankello has been trainer for 9-time amateur gold medalist Verquan Kimbrough until today. He is currently training for the 2018 National Golden Glove champion Kiante Irving.
Yankello became coach of United States 2000 Super Heavyweight Olympian Calvin Brock for 30 bouts which included Brock winning and taking his IBA Continental America Heavyweight Title and battling Wladimir Klitschko to title fights for the IBF Heavyweight title.

At the beginning of Yankello’s professional boxing career He participated as an amateur and was trained by Pittsburgh-area trainers Jerry Maggio, Ray Palladini along with Carmie Price three separate occasions. Moreover, Yankello served as the coach of IBF Heavyweight Title challenger Calvin Brock and WBO Cruiserweight Title challenger Brian Minto. Yankello is currently the coach of the 2018 165 lb National Golden Gloves champion Kiante Irving. He was also the boxing coach of author Ed Latimore. Yankello has been inducted into the Beaver County Sports Hall of Fame.
