The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Doug Davidson Reunites with Brenda Dickson – Y&R Stars’ Blast from the Past
The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that one CBS soap star recently got a blast from the past. Y&R fans know Doug Davidson as Paul Williams in Genoa City. Paul is always pondering the town’s criminal mysteries and bumping into other GC residents. It turns out Davidson also bumped into a familiar face in real life – and she was someone longtime Y&R viewers may recognize.
On Twitter, Davidson shared a photo of his encounter and filled everyone in on what happened. While he was out and about, Davidson crossed paths with Brenda Dickson. She played Jill Foster on The Young and the Restless from 1973 to 1980 and then again from 1983 to 1987. There were some fill-in versions of Jill along the way, but Dickson was best known in the role until Jess Walton took over.
There are undoubtedly still some classic Jill fans that will remember Dickson’s time on the show. Davidson was certainly excited to run into Dickson and take a moment to catch up. He happened to see her at The Grove in Los Angeles, so it’s lucky that they ended up there at the same time.
Davidson joked about his own very casual appearance since Dickson looked so elegant. He likes to have a little fun on social media, which his followers always appreciate. Davidson tweeted, “Ran into the beautiful Brenda Dickson @TheGroveLA ! The #original Jill. She’s styling!! I look like I’m on vacation.”
Of course, many Y&R viewers disagreed with Davidson dismissing his own style! He got lots of compliments along with Dickson, who sported a big smile in the pic. One fan said, “My goodness you are both so gorgeous! You have aged so well Doug. In case I haven’t said it in the past week – I’m still so happy that you returned to Y&R & I get to see you as the one and only Chief Of Police in Genoa City.”
Another Young and the Restless watcher insisted, “She looks fabulous and yes styling but @DougDavidsonYR I’ll take you in that attire any day cuz you are always styling!” One more fan recalled how much they loved Dickson in the role, but she was quick to praise Walton’s portrayal as well. “I hated when she left @YandR_CBS @DougDavidsonYR but I have always loved @JessWaltonYR.”
