Tying a belt in Taekwondo is an important tradition that signifies a student’s rank and progress in the martial art. The belt is typically tied around the waist, with the knot positioned in the center of the abdomen. There are several different ways to tie a Taekwondo belt, but the most common method is the “square knot.”
To tie a square knot, first, cross the right end of the belt over the left end, then bring the left end up through the loop created by the right end. Next, cross the right end over the left end again, and bring the right end down through the loop created by the left end. Finally, pull both ends of the belt tight to secure the knot.
