Ritch Workman is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on May 3, 1973 in Belleville, Ontario, Canada. Workman was born in Belleville (Ontario) in 1973. His family moved to Florida in 1980 from Canada because Pierre Trudeau, the Liberal Party of Canada, won the 1980 federal election. However, Workman’s father didn’t want to live in what was considered a socialist country. Workman graduated from Satellite High School, Satellite Beach, and then attended Appalachian State University. He graduated in 1995. He served as a battery commander in Operation Noble Eagle and in the National Guard after he graduated. Workman was elected as the incumbent State Representative Mike Haridopolos to the Florida Senate in 2003 Special Election. He ran to succeed him for the 30th district, which spanned from Rockledge to Palm Bay, southern Brevard County. Workman was defeated by Thad Altman in a Republican primary. He received 29% of Altman’s vote and Altman’s 41%.
Workman was elected to the 52nd district in 2012 after the state’s legislative districts were reorganized. This included the majority of the territory he had previously represented in the 30-th District. His third term was won without opposition, in either the Republican primary nor the general election. Workman was reelected in 2014 to his final and fourth term in the House without opposition.
Workman wrote several pieces of legislation during the 2011 legislative session that would have repealed many of his “inane laws.” One of the most controversial laws Workman wanted to repeal was one banning “dwarf-tossing,” which is a competition in which small people are literally made into human shot putters. Workman stated, “Little people don’t need the government to decide for themselves.” This is insulting. They aren’t putting others at risk by their actions. Every law passed is a loss of liberty and freedom. He claimed that his legislation could improve the economy. However, he noted that “all that [the ban against dwarf-tossing] does it is stop some dwarfs getting jobs that they would love to get.” Why would we want people to be denied gainful employment in this economy or any other economy? Little People of America, an advocacy organization for individuals with dwarfism condemned Workman’s legislation. Jennifer Arnold, one of The Little Couple’s stars, also criticized the proposal. Arnold stated, “My greatest concern is that it’s going backwards.” It seems that it is acceptable to make fun of children today. This is not acceptable for people of other races, religions, or disabilities.

Ritch Workman was born May 3, 1973. He is an ex-Republican member of the Florida House of Representatives. He represented the 52nd district, which covers southern Brevard County. It stretches from Melbourne to Palm Shores from 2012 to 2016. He also represented the 30th District between 2008 and 2012.
Altman chose to run for the Florida Senate, rather than to seek re-election. Workman ran to succeed. Workman was defeated by Tres Holton in the Republican primary. He won 62% of the vote. After a contentious campaign, Workman narrowly defeated Amy Tidd to win 54% of her vote. Tidd won 46%. Workman faced Tidd again when he ran for re-election. He campaigned on the sponsorship of Arizona’s SB 1070, which would permit police officers to “detain a persons who cannot prove their citizenship and legal status.” Tidd replied that she was still waiting to see his papers. Workman replied, “Is that because I’m white that it is not a racist slur?” She makes my point, though I am offended. Because illegal immigrants diminish my efforts, I support immigration reform. The Orlando Sentinel supported Tidd over Workman, critiquing Workman’s “dubious priorities” including “aligning himself to a fringe group which rejects federal authority over States, though he sees nothing contradictory in Florida receiving billions in stimulus money from Washington, D.C.” However, Workman was able to increase his margin of victory over Tidd, winning by a wide margin with 61% of votes.
After losing the 2016 primary election for the state senate, Workman was appointed to the Florida Public Service Commission by Republican Governor Rick Scott. But before he could assume office, he was accused of ‘abhorrent’ sexual harassment by State Senator Lizbeth Benacquisto (R) who claimed he touched her inappropriately and made vulgar comments and gestures at a charity event. She asked him to stop, but he persisted. When he refused to stop, others had to intervene.
