On 9 November 2019, Reinier extended his contract with Flamengo until 31 October 2024 with a release clause set at €35 million.
On 20 January 2020, Real Madrid CF announced that the club reached an agreement with Flamengo for the transfer of Reinier, who signed a contract until June 2026. He will play with Real Madrid Castilla for the rest of the season. The fee was around of €35 million. On 7 March 2020, he scored his first goal for the Castilla against Coruxo.
