Liam Pitchford is one of the most popular and richest Table Tennis Player who was born on July 12, 1993 in Chesterfield, England, United Kingdom. Pitchford represented England at 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. He won a silver medal as a team competitor, while Singapore took gold. Pitchford won a silver medal with Tin-Tin Ho, as well as the bronze medal for the men’s doubles. He reached No 44 in the ITTF World Rankings in August 2014. This was his highest career ranking.
In June 2015, Pitchford was part of the Great Britain table tennis squad at the inaugural European Games in Baku, where he reached the quarter-finals.
At the 2015 World Table Tennis Championships, Pitchford showed growth by reaching the round of 32 in men’s singles. He beat two-time World Cup runner-up Kalinikos Kreanga and world number 20 Tiago Apolonia before losing to South Korean Joo Sae-hyuk.
He moved to TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen, Germany’s top division, in the summer 2011. Prior to that, he had played for FC Tegernheim, second division. Pitchford was a player for Aarhus BTK, the Danish best league from 2009 to 2010. His contract with Ochsenhausen was renewed for three years in July 2014.
He beat World number nine Vladimir Samsonov in international competitions in the autumn 2011 and World junior number three Wu Jiaji to become number one in the English rankings of November 2011. He ended the year with a World ranking of 171 which was a record-breaking achievement. This made him the third-highest-ranked British player on ITTF World Rankings. He was then part of Team GB’s squad for the London Olympics 2012.
In 2014 he was part of the England men’s team which clinched promotion to the top level of world table tennis at the World Team Championships in Japan.
