Benjamin Scott Holmstrom (born April 9th 1987) is an American professional ice hockey player who is currently playing for the Cincinnati Cyclones in the ECHL. He played for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in the American Hockey League (AHL). The brother of Josh Holmstrom was a teammate with the Sound Tigers.
After having led the Sound Tigers for four seasons, Holmstrom left the club as a free agent following the end of 2018-19. On the 27th of August, 2019, Holmstrom agreed to continue his professional career by signing a one-year deal to the Norfolk Admirals of the ECHL.
The 2nd of July, 2015 Holmstrom became an unrestricted free agent under an agreement for one year, two ways for the New York Islanders. After two years of contract for Islanders Islanders, Holmstrom opted to remain with the team in the third season of his contract as a player with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on an AHL contract on the 4th of October, 2017.

In the absence of a draft, Holmstrom was signed to a 2-year entry-level contract to the Philadelphia Flyers on March 17 of 2010 following the last four seasons in collegiate sports for UMass Lowell. Holmstrom was called up on the 3rd of March in 2011 when he made his NHL debut against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
On July 3rd of 2014, Holmstrom left the Flyers team after four years in order to sign a deal as a free-agent for the Carolina Hurricanes. Holmstrom was assigned to an AHL affiliate that of the Charlotte Checkers for the duration of the 2014-15 campaign, scoring 20 points over 62 games. The Checkers did not make it to the postseason.
